The Maternity Unlimited programme works at three distinct levels:
-
An Organisation’s Capability
Maternity Unlimited relies heavily on the long substantiated belief that people, and in particular relationships between people, are key to an organisation’s success. Using established organisational competency frameworks, Maternity Unlimited examine the specific maternity relationships within an organisation to produce an evidence based ‘Maternity Needs’ assessment. With phased recommendations this report is the starting block for the full roll out of bespoke interventions aimed at improving current practice and achieving our best practice maternity certification.
With ongoing reviews and 360 degree feedback, Maternity Unlimited provides constant evidence of development throughout the duration of the programme for senior managers with the end goal of organisations taking direct responsibility for their maternity population’s development and strategy.
-
The Managerial Investment
Emotional engagement between managers and women about to take maternity leave increases the successful return rate of those women and enables them to return to work as fully engaged, supported and valued team members.
Our interactive workshops provide the tools and knowledge for managers to be able to support their team members throughout the maternity transition. Our trainers raise awareness about the practical and emotional challenges that expectant and returning women face and the impact that their own actions can have on the relationship between these people and the organisation.
-
Parenting Perspectives
The maternity transition is often a time of huge personal change. Values and beliefs that have been constant can change overnight and as with all change, it can be unsettling if you’re not prepared.
Parenting Perspectives empowers individuals with essential learning and practical techniques to help them through their own maternity journey and the return to work. Each programme is a unique combination of group workshops and one-to-one mentoring sessions designed for each person and tailored to reflect where they are on their own journey. The themes focus on:
- The changes in identity (from worker, to mum, to working mum).
- The ‘psychological contract’ that exists between employer and employee.
- Planning and preparing for a return to work.
- Recognising and managing your emotional response to the feelings of others.
